The REV GUM Story

The REVolution Begins Here

REV Gum was founded in 2018 in Austin, Texas by University of Texas graduate Blake Settle. The original idea wasn't a business—it was a personal need. The caffeine products sold on campus weren't safe for Blake to consume daily as a diabetic, so he resorted to chewing sugar-free gum to focus while studying. Eventually he asked himself, "why has nobody put caffeine in this yet?"

So he did. Drawing from his chemistry education, Blake designed REV Gum to deliver caffeine and electrolytes in a fast and convenient format, all while skipping the sugar, corn syrup, and additives that pad most competing products.

He co-founded REV with Sam Ehlinger, then-quarterback at the University of Texas and now in the NFL. The brand is backed by YETI Capital, Lance Armstrong, Walter Robb (former co-CEO of Whole Foods), and the founders of Drunk Elephant. Investors who care about the same thing the team does: clean products that perform. Every formulation decision REV has made since the original launch tracks back to one constraint: would Blake chew this every day himself? If the answer is no, it doesn't ship.
